Gran Fondo Massimiliano Lelli

12 June

Held in the height of summer, the Gran Fondo Massimiliano Lelli is one of the region’s most important cycling events and is known as a one-of-a-kind trial for those who want to compete in the Italian Forense Mediofondo Championship.

The Gran Fondo is tied to the Giro del Granducato di Toscana Tour, which begins and ends in Manciano.

The tour winds through various Maremman towns and cities, including the territories that produce the famous Morellino di Scansano DOCG red wine.

The tour is divided into three different categories, with the last being the longest and hardest:
- Cycling
- Middle Distance
- Long Distance

The Gran Fondo Massimiliano Lelli is open to both professional and amateur cyclists and all you have to do is sign up for the different categories on race day.

A true adventure, the race is an important marker for professional cyclists, but is also great fun for those who are just passionate about the sport and want to take in some of the beauty of the area.

Those who aren’t cyclist will also find plenty to do after the race. When everyone has returned to Manciano, the afternoon is dedicated to a big party to celebrate the winners and the losers.

There’s food and wine, of course, as well as music and a big and elaborate award ceremony for the cyclists who came first, second and third.
